MBA Accreditations

Are you currently involved in selecting an institution to attend for your MBA? If so, you have a lot of schools to choose from. Worldwide there are almost 1500 colleges or schools of business offering an MBA program. It's important to be able to differentiate the good schools from the bad. Two factors to consider are the accreditation and the rankings of the institution.

Future MBAs often refer to the Financial Times' and The Economists' Global MBA rankings. As I have written in my other article "How to read the MBA rankings", there are only 200 business schools that are considered in the rankings. And the rankings are based on a questionnaire sent out to the alumni leaving the school from 1-3 years ago, and is only sent out to a chosen set of schools, so there are no wonders why the same schools keep appearing in the rankings.

But each of these schools must be buy wow weapons accredited by well known accreditation bodies. Among the organizations that do this accreditation are three of the main ones: AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA.

The AACSB, or The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business is a non profit global buy wow weapons membership organization designed to serve institutions offering management education. It is an American organization which was founded in 1916, and to this day retains a great deal of popularity in the US. It is however used in 43 countries with 643 institutions having accreditation from AACSB presently.

The Association of MBAs (AMBA) - This organization is an impartial international wow gold organization for MBAs as well as others engaged in postgraduate education in the field of business. At the present time, a total of 189 schools in more than 70 countries hold accreditation for individual MBA programs.

EQUIS - The European Quality Improvement System specializes in higher education institutions that provide management and business administration. The wow items Award is given out by the EFMD, European Foundation for Management Development. The schools have to undergo a 5 year revision to be able to get the EQUIS accreditation. This is an European body and is of course most popular in Europe. By the end of 2010, there were 127 business schools accredited in 35 countries around the world.

When a school earns all three of these accreditations, it is known as a Triple Crown holder. This is something that only 57 business schools hold at the present time.
